Sue has devised her own method of teaching meditation and body consciousness through refining the ability of participants to use their imagination and visualise their own bodies and also connect with their inner voice.
Meditation and health are so intricately linked that it is clear to see that this is a powerful tool. Sue teaches her own means of learning to meditate through the Chakra system, enabling people to work with their energy systems through conscious awareness and understanding and also through the self awareness developed through the body consciousness.
Brilliant Imagination is a mediation course aimed at encouraging little people to quiet their minds and focus for short times through the development of their powerful and fertile imaginations. Children are given tools for dealing with the challenges of growing up in this fast paced and hectic world. They are taught to breathe effectively , pin their worries on a worry tree for it to take care of, reclaim their power through their imaginative wanderings and experiences, observe themselves and become more self aware, and to see their own uniqueness and trust it. This is an empowering gift to give a child and these are skills that will be with them for life. Classes are fun and age categorized.

We have all heard it said many times that all the answers lie within, but many people are unsure how to access these answers. Meditation forms the perfect platform for going “inside” and finding the answers. Meditation also helps us to formulate the questions we need to answer.

Our minds are sometimes like a rail way station in full rush hour traffic. Signals and messages going in all directions at the same time. Often these messages are conflicting and very commonly they are circular and therefore non constructive. Our thoughts are the product of our programming, our customs, our experiences and our fears and insecurities. Often our thoughts are driven by our life message which may be something like “l ‘m not good enough” or “l am stupid” or “I am not beautiful” or “I have to perform to be recognised or to have value”. We all know that for anyone to succeed they need encouragement; they need to be able to visualise the task at hand being successfully accomplished. So why then do we allow our minds to rule our lives, even though we know that many of our thoughts are non- constructive and in fact sabotaging? We can do nothing about these sabotaging, undermining, disempowering thoughts until we become aware of them. Meditation is a means of attaining this level of awareness which can give you the power to take your thoughts and separate them.

Meditative breathing or focused breathing leads to many desirable outcomes and it is so easy to do:
- Relaxation (think of a sigh of relief).
- Being in the “now” or the present moment.
- Quieting of the mind -it requires focus and concentration.
- Mind-body connection
- Energising of the body-oxygen is necessary for metabolism and therefore for energy production.
- Enhanced mental function- what happens when you sit in a stuffy room? You fall asleep or feel drowsy and start to yawn-to encourage you to breathe more deeply.
- It brings about correct use of the core muscles since the diaphragm is an important stabiliser muscle of the pelvis and spine. It is an inherent part of the inner core muscles so why not use it as much as possible? Tighten your core and energise yourself.

Your body is connected far more profoundly to your higher self than your mind. This is because the connection isn’t clouded by all the programming and negative thought processes your culture, education, traditions and upbringing have installed in your mind. So connecting with the messages and gentle encouragement your body provides is a very helpful way to live your highest potential and be the most powerful and effective you.

Many people understand the word meditation to mean “mental focus”. Some people may call it “quieting the mind” or “finding stillness”, and Body Brilliance’s own interpretation of meditation is based on all of these explanations, but it has an added dimension to its understanding. For me, meditation is a means of connecting with the many different parts of ourselves. This is created through the stillness we create by finding a space within our minds that is in front of our thoughts. We do not need to stop our thoughts, just separate from them briefly.
